Logement Nij Bonga is located in a beautiful stately village villa, in the heart of Holwerd.
Villa Nij Bonga is an impressive building, built in 1907 by notary Poelstra, with many style elements from the Art Nouveau. On the posts at the entrance the name '' Nij Bonga '' is still written in gilded letters. In 2016, the building was converted into an attractive accommodation.
The guests of Nij Bonga can use the left side of the building, accessible via the private front door.
A stay in the accommodation is easy to realize: book in advance or simply call us to make an appointment. If we are not present you can always call us and we can let you in by telephone. This means that you will never be faced with a closed door, even if you happen to 'blow in' with us. With this we want to give you a feeling of hospitality. Low threshold is what we stand for.
The rooms at Logement Nij Bonga are tastefully decorated with a comfortable bed and a seating area. Both rooms have their own bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
In the common room there is a large table where you can enjoy breakfast, read your newspaper or perhaps spread your map to plan the route for the next day! Use can be made of the kitchen with cooking facilities and fridge. The site offers plenty of private parking.
For many people, Holwerd is best known for its ferry service to Ameland. But also walk through the many narrow streets and small alleys that the village is rich in and be surprised!
The village is easily accessible from both Leeuwarden and Dokkum. From the through routes via the N356 and N357 the street where the guesthouse is located is directly accessible. Holwerd is also easy to reach by public transport, the nearest bus stop is within walking distance of the inn.
During the fall, winter and early spring we have a number of regular guests. In the big tree next to the house there are invariably a number of long-eared owls that return annually; a unique place of interest!
